Prayers for Emotional Healing to Help You Experience Emotional Freedom

Do you have a personal relationship with Jesus? He loves you and is calling your name!

Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28 KJV)

We all need help with painful emotions. We’ve all endured sorrows and tragedy in our lives.

Perhaps we were bullied as children, experienced abuse or neglect, or endured a serious physical trauma that left us disabled.

Or perhaps we had a happy childhood, but later in life we were the victims of a violent crime, or lost someone close to us and the grief and trauma left us feeling weak, vulnerable, and beyond repair.

Perhaps we have post traumatic stress disorder. We relive our experiences over and over again and the stress is as acute as if the event occurred just yesterday.

We may have undergone years of therapy and require medication just to help us cope with the suffering.

If you can relate to any of the above situations, I have provided some personalized prayers for emotional healing that you can lift up to Jesus to help you process difficult emotions and traumatic memories.

I have found that by specifically praying about the emotions that I’m experiencing, God has been good to release me from their strongholds.

Let me explain...

I experienced some traumas as a teenager that left me feeling insecure about my right to defend myself. I didn’t have safe boundaries and didn’t feel that I had a right to say "No!" to someone.

These events left me feeling weak and vulnerable for years and exacerbated my depression and mental illness.

I was passive aggressive, easily manipulated, and had some pretty big emotional strongholds that made it challenging to have healthy relationships.

I was contentious and rebellious. I also thought that I could fill this void through escapism with food, alcohol, and inappropriate, dangerous behaviors.

This was true for a very long time.

Blessedly, after becoming a born-again Christian, I had an experience that helped me to understand the tremendous Love of God, the power of His healing hand with regard to intense emotions, and some of the many benefits of personalized prayer.

I was in a situation with a young person who blamed me for something that I did not do. I was immediately angry and embarrassed!

I didn’t feel good and was horrified that I was so angry with this child!

A short while later, I felt convicted to pray about the situation. I prayed for relief from the anger, for forgiveness towards the child, and for God to soften my heart.

I was amazed when He answered my prayer so quickly!

I mean this literally…one moment I was so very angry, wanting to express my intense feelings toward this young person, but the following moments as I was seeking relief from God in prayer, it was as if nothing had ever happened!

I felt calm and at peace!

I was so very thankful for this new realization! And while it took some time for me to fully utilize the power of specific prayer with regard to intense emotional experiences, it was a turning point in my Christian walk.

When I understood that God wanted to help soften my heart and heal me of my emotional traumas, I became excited about the possibilities!

I began seeking all the ways that I was emotionally hindered, and decided that I would take all of my painful memories and intense emotions and give them to God in prayers for emotional healing.

I’ve been continually amazed at the way that God has neutralized my painful memories and emotions!

I want to help you to realize the tremendous power of specific, personalized prayer.

When you start this process, you may have many troubling, painful memories and intense emotions, and you may wonder where to start praying first.

Especially if you are fearful of facing your “Emotional Giants", you may be afraid to open the door of your heart to God. But God can help you process your fears safely and compassionately with prayers for emotional healing.

He doesn’t want you to be held captive by these fears. Fear gets in the way of proper healing and inhibits not only our relationships with others, but also our ability to handle the daily stresses of life.

Unresolved emotional conflicts can also manifest themselves in physical ailments, and sickness. If you struggle with emotional trauma, you may also be succeptible to more physical illness.

Our bodies are an amazing creation of our Most High God. When we are hurting, we may develop symptoms of illness that cause us to shut down. This is a survival instinct that God gave us. Only with God's help, rest, and proper treatment, are we able to get healthy again.

That's why it is so important to deal with our emotions as they come up. With God's healing hand we can successfully process our troubling emotions to experience true freedom, better health, and pure joy!

I have outlined a prayer strategy where you first pray to God to relieve the fear you have of facing your fears. When God gives you relief, you begin to pray for relief from a painful memory. Next, you pray specific prayers for each emotional stronghold. Finally, you pray for God to help you forgive the person(s) who hurt you.

It is a systematic way to pray that will help you to name your feelings and lift them up to God in prayers for emotional healing.

I have also included Bible Verses and references to Bible Verses in some of the prayers for you to memorize and for the Holy Spirit to remind you of when you pray. Learning Bible Verses that speak to your concerns will help to comfort and strengthen you as you lean on the Lord for His healing. And it is OK to pray God's Word back to Him.

Pray the prayers as long and as often as necessary. Our emotional healing may come gradually, especially if the pain is deep and the exact origin is hidden from our cognitive awareness.

It can also be helpful to work with a professional Christian counselor (or a compassionate fellow Christian well versed in the Bible) when you are hurting. A Christian counselor can help you to process your emotions safely and Biblically.

Also know that the devil will try to get you to stay focused on your pain. Resist the urge to dwell on how you've been hurt, and instead seek the Lord for His Supernatural Power to release you from your emotional strongholds.

Put on the whole Armour of God (See Ephesians 6:10-18)

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole Armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:10-12 KJV)

Wherefore take unto you the whole Armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (Ephesians 6:13 KJV)

"Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with Truth..." (Ephesians 6:14a KJV)

We must put on the Belt of Truth. Jesus is the Truth, we must accept Jesus as our Lord & Savior in order to be at peace with God.

"...and having on the Breastplate of Righteousness;" (Ephesians 6:14b KJV)

We must put on the Breastplate of Righteousness. We are to live our lives in such a way that is holy and righteous as God is Holy and Righteous. This protects our heart. Instead of allowing our emotions to rule our decisions, we seek and lean on God's Righteousness to help us make right choices.

And your feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of Peace; (Ephesians 6:15 KJV)

We put on the shoes of the Gospel of Peace which help us to walk safely on all types of terrain, including dangerous ground. God gives us His peace when we stay close to Him for His protection and seek peace with those around us by sharing our Faith and the Source of our Peace, Jesus!

"...taking the Shield of Faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked." (Ephesians 6:16 KJV)

With child-like faith, we trust God to protect us from all the attacks of the devil. Faith is a muscle that must be exercised. Blessedly, God will constantly remind you how trustworthy He is! (See the following Bible Verses: Proverbs 3:5-6; 1 Corinthians 1:9; Hebrews 10:23)

"And take the Helmet of Salvation..." (Ephesians 6:17a KJV)

The Helmet of Salvation protects our minds from the lies of the devil. We must remember that Jesus is our Salvation and that NOTHING can sever that Truth! (See Romans 8:38-39)

We must also seek God's help to think beautiful thoughts. Take all your thoughts captive and make them obedient to Christ (See 2 Corinthians 10:5). This means we must actively focus our thoughts so that we are thinking about things that are pleasing to God: beauty, nature, loving thoughts towards others, etc. God can help us with this, also!

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; (2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV)

"...and the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God:" (Ephesians 6:17b KJV)

The Sword of the Spirit is God's Word, the Bible. We must daily spend time in God's Word in order to stay close to Him and to know what He expects of us. Just as Jesus quoted Scripture to successfully thwart the devil's temptations in the wilderness (See Matthew 4:1-11), we must use Scripture in the same way.

"Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;" (Ephesians 6:18 KJV)

To pray continuously to our Heavenly Father is imperative in our battle against the devil and evil forces in this world. Your prayers don't have to be long and elaborate as you pray through the day. They can be as simple as "Help me, LORD!", or "Take over this situation, Dear Jesus! I NEED You!"

Through our prayers, we acknowledge God as our Protector and Deliverer. When we pray and ask Him to help us, He will give us peace. It is aslo helpful to take a break when we are overcome with worry, so that we can refocus on God and His Promises to be with us. I like to use an app to look up Bible Verses when I get scared, or am feeling anxious.

Once we are grounded and girded with the Armour of God, we are prepared to allow God to help us process our difficult emotions!

Prayers for Emotional Freedom

Here is the method I use:

  1. Pray for God to give you courage to face your fears.
  2. Notice what you are thinking about, pinpoint a troubling memory that keeps haunting you and give it to God in prayer.
  3. List all the ways that you are hindered by that memory and give each to God in prayer.
  4. List the emotions you feel when you are thinking about that memory and give them, one by one, to God in prayer.
  5. Finally, pray for God to help you forgive the person(s) who hurt you.

Follow the example prayers for emotional healing below as you learn how to systematically submit your fears and intense emotions to God.

He will help you to process them safely.

Step 1: Pray for God to give you the courage to face your fears.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Oh, how I praise You, for You are a Holy God!

Give unto the LORD the glory due unto His name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness. (Psalm 29:2 KJV)

Please forgive me and please help me, Dear Abba Father!

Please give me the courage to face my greatest fears. I’m afraid to deal with the hurt I’ve endured. It’s too scary for me to deal with these memories, this trauma is too big for me.

Please help me to not be so afraid!

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. (Joshua 1:9 KJV)

Please be my Shield and Protector from the emotional and physical trauma that I endured. I want to be free from this pain, but I’m afraid to open the door. I’m afraid of what’s on the other side.

Please be with me and protect me from the danger that I’m afraid of.

In Your Word You say...

14 Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known My name. 15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. (Psalm 91:14-15 KJV)

Please give me courage to give my greatest fears to You, O Lord, because You want me to be emotionally free and at peace. I want to be healed of this trauma.

You also say in Your Word...

"...Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee:.." (2 Kings 20:5 KJV)

Please guide me as I pray for Your healing and protection.

You are always good, O Lord! Please continually remind me that You are with me and helping me.

I want to trust You, O God. Please remind me how trustworthy You are! (See the following Bible Verses: Psalm 89:2, 1 Corinthians 1:9, Hebrews 10:23)

Please constantly remind me to trust You! (See Proverbs 3:5-6) Help me to stop focusing on my problems and to stay focused on You!

Thank You for giving me relief and for answering my prayers!

Oh, how I need and love You, Jesus!

In Your Precious Name I pray! Amen!

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your Righteousness and Sovereignty! You are an Awesome God!

Please forgive me and please help me!

You know my heart and my thoughts...

O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me. (Psalm 139:1 KJV)

For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, Thou knowest it altogether. (Psalm 139:4 KJV)

Because You know me and understand me completely, You and Your Lovingkindness are so comforting to me!

Please prepare my heart for this soul work. I want to be emotionally free, but I’m afraid of what might come up. Please help me to reveal my deepest fears to You.

Please bring to mind anything in my heart that is preventing the release and healing of these traumatic memories and I will pause to listen...

(Pause for a few minutes for God to respond...)

My most painful memories are on constant replay. It is so very hard to function with them always in the forefront of my mind.

I’m bombarded with a ton of difficult emotions every time I think these thoughts: fear, anger, guilt, unworthiness, shame, embarrassment, hatred, grief and sorrow.

Please prepare my heart to let go of each of these feelings so I can be healed!

Help me to want to process each of these emotions, so that they no longer hold me captive!

I want to be a willing servant of Christ. I want to be able to love others as Jesus loves me!

Please soften my heart and give me the desire to relinquish each emotional stronghold and help me to grieve safely, O Lord!

3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. 4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. (Matthew 5:3-4 KJV)

Thank You for answering my prayers. Oh, how I love You, LORD!

In Jesus’ Precious Name I pray. Amen!

Step 2: Give a traumatic memory to God in prayer.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I look to You, Awesome God, for You break my chains! You are All Powerful and for that I am thankful!

Please forgive me and please help me, O LORD!

This painful memory keeps playing over and over in my mind. It keeps me up at night. I’m afraid and in pain because of what happened to me, Lord.

It’s too painful and too much for me to carry.

Please take this painful memory and give me relief from this pain! Please help me to let go of this troubling thought.

I don’t know how to let go of this emotional trauma, but You are Good and You want to help me!

And therefore will the LORD wait, that He may be gracious unto you, and therefore will He be exalted, that He may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for Him. (Isaiah 30:18 KJV)

Please heal this memory. Take away the sting of this memory. It has caused me so many sleepless nights!

Please give me beautiful thoughts to replace this painful memory. Please lighten my emotions and give me rest.

All I want is to be free from this emotional and physical distress! It’s taken so much of my life away, and now I want to be free from this pain!

Please help me to let go of this painful memory and help me to not want to dwell on the pain it has caused me. Please give me emotional healing and rest.

Please take the sting away from this painful memory, O Lord!

Thank You for answering my prayers!

I love You and All that You Are, LORD!

In Jesus’ Precious Name I pray. Amen!

Step 3: Give all the ways that this traumatic memory is hindering your life to God in prayer.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Oh, how I praise You, LORD! Thank You for prayer! Your Will be done in my life, O LORD!

Please forgive me and please help me, O LORD!

Because of this painful memory my life is hindered in so many ways:

  1. I’m afraid to trust people, even if they say they will never hurt me, I’m afraid that they will.
  2. I’m always anxious and upset. I never feel at peace because of this memory.
  3. I’m so often depressed and discouraged because of my inability to get past this painful event in my life.
  4. I’m angry and upset because this trauma has taken so much of my life away from me!
  5. I’m always focused on the hurting and the struggle, I can’t get past this memory.

Please heal this distrust. I want to be able to trust people, even though I’m afraid of giving my trust. Help me to have safe boundaries with people so that I am taking care of myself.

Please help me to be able to tell someone “No!” when I feel uncomfortable. Please help me to know that It’s ok to have safe boundaries, that it’s ok to say “No!”, and that there is no shame in feeling this way.

Please give me Your peace. Please take away my anxiety and upset feelings resulting from this memory. Help me to look to You when I become anxious, remind me to keep my eyes on Jesus when I am afraid!

Please lift my depression and discouragement. I want to feel lighter and encouraged.

Please remind me to read the Psalms of the Bible when I experience discouragement, fear, and depression. The Psalmists before me poured out their hearts to You and You gave them rest!

I pray that I would also be encouraged every time I open Your Word!

Please remove this anger and give me relief. Help me process my anger safely. I am now giving my anger over to You!

Please remind me to give my anger to You whenever I am provoked. I don’t want to be a slave to this lingering anger anymore!

Please help me to stop focusing on the pain, and help me to lift up my struggles to You instead!

Please also help me to remember to give my struggles to You when the enemy tries to trip me up by reminding me of this painful memory.

Thank You for answering my prayers! I love You so much, Lord Jesus!

In Your Precious Name I pray. Amen!

Step 4: List all the emotions you feel when thinking about this painful memory and give each to God in prayer.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You, Father, for wanting to spend time with me every day! I praise You for Your Lovingkindness!

Please forgive me and please help me, LORD!

I feel so many painful emotions when I think about this memory: fear, anger, anxiety, sadness, impatience, embarrassment.

I keep getting stuck on these emotions and cannot move forward. Please help me to feel better. Please relieve me of the emotional strongholds that keep me focused on the pain.

I’m afraid of being hurt again. Please take this fear from me. Please neutralize this fear. Nothing is impossible for You, O Lord! I don’t want to be mastered by my fear of being hurt again anymore!

I give my fears to You, O Lord! Please help me to not cling to fear any longer!

I’m angry that I’ve been hurt by this person(s), I’m angry because it has taken so much of my life away from me. Please help me, O Lord! Help me to not be angry. This anger hurts my heart! Please neutralize this anger!

Please give me freedom from anger! I don’t like the way this anger feels! Because I can't carry this anger anymore, I now give it to You Almighty God to carry for me. I exchange it for Your peace.

I feel anxious because of this post traumatic stress. It keeps coming back and I struggle to find peace. Please take this anxiety and replace it with Your peace! I don’t want to feel anxious. I want to be at peace.

Please help me to focus on You, Jesus! I see so much that gives me anxiety. Please help me to look to You instead of focusing on my struggles! Please give me Your peace and help me to rest on Your promises!

I’m saddened by what happened to me, Lord! I’m sad and feel broken! Please help me, Lord, to process this grief safely. I need Your comfort and Your strength!

Please comfort me in my sadness, O Lord!

Please help me to lean on You, for Your love and compassion. Please help me to have compassion for myself as I go through my day.

Please help me process this sadness and grief, for You are “ …the God of all comfort;...” (2 Corinthians 1:3 KJV).

I’m impatient, Lord, with how long it has taken me to get over this! Please take this emotional pain from me.

Lessen my anguish and replace it with Your compassion and comfort. Please take away this impatience and replace it with Your peace and stillness.

I feel embarrassed and shameful about this trauma. I’m afraid other people only see this broken part of me. I feel awkward and exposed.

Please take this embarrassment and shame and replace it with calm self-acceptance.

I want to feel beautiful and whole. I want to know that You see me as worthy of Love! Please neutralize this embarrassment, Lord! Nothing is impossible for You!

Please help me to process these painful emotions safely and completely! I don’t want to be shackled to these emotional strongholds anymore, O Lord! Please help me to feel lighter!

Thank You for answering my prayers!

I love You so, Abba Father!

In Jesus’ Precious Name I pray. Amen!

Step 5: Pray for God to help you forgive the person(s) who hurt you.

Dear Heavenly Father,

You are a Good, Good Father! You are Holy and Righteous and I praise You!

Please forgive me and please help me, Dear Lord!

Please help me, O Lord! I don’t like what was done to me, and I don’t know how to forgive the person(s) who hurt me.

Your Word says that I am to forgive as I have been forgiven (See Ephesians 4:32), but this is so very difficult! Please help me to forgive this person(s)!

Please soften my heart and replace my anger with compassion. Please help me to know that You are in control, that You care about this pain and that my job is to seek You, lean wholeheartedly on You, and to forgive those who harmed me.

Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you. (1 Peter 5:7 KJV)

You say that vengeance is Yours (See Romans 12:19), so I will leave the discipline to You and ask that You help me to trust that all will be made right!

Dear Jesus, since you became my Savior, You are my STRENGTH when I am weak. So fill me with YOUR loving, forgiving power to forgive this person once and for all because I haven’t been able to forgive this person on my own.

When the soldiers nailed You to the cross You said “...Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do...” (Luke 23:34 KJV)

Please give me that same attitude toward the person(s) who hurt me. THANK YOU, LORD JESUS!

Please help me to have compassion, for everyone needs Jesus, even the person(s) who hurt me. Perhaps this person was hurt in a similar way in the past and never got help. Please help me to see the humanity in the person(s) who meant me harm!

Please help me to forgive the person(s) who hurt me! I don’t want the painful feeling of unforgiveness, it angers and saddens me! Please help me, O Lord, to forgive!

My sin was great, O LORD! I remember the times when I hurt others, too! Please remind me that You had mercy on me when I was a sinner without hope. Please forgive me for my unforgiveness to others.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (Romans 3:23 KJV)

14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. (Matthew 6: 14-15 KJV)

I'm thankful that Your mercies are new each morning, and that I get a clean slate to continue to forgive those who hurt me. You understand how it is hard for me to forgive others! I need Your Supernatural Power through the Holy Spirit to release me from this unforgiveness!

22 It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22-23 KJV)

Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. (2 Corinthians 3:17 KJV)

Please help me to not want to pick up this unforgiveness that I'm laying at Your feet! Help me to forgive once and for all!

Thank You for answering my prayers, and for peace!

Oh, how I love You!

In Jesus’ Precious Name I pray. Amen!

You may be doubtful about the possibility of being completely emotionally free because of how simple this process is.

All I can say is that God is ALWAYS GOOD, and He wants for you to be at peace!

You can even be completely honest with God about your doubts, for He wants to show you that Nothing is impossible for Him!

Dear Heavenly Father,

I give thanks to You, O Lord! For You are Worthy of Praise and Worship!

Please forgive me and please help me, O LORD!

I have doubts about being free from this emotional turmoil. I’ve carried it for so long and it has become a part of my daily life. I have been a prisoner of this pain for so long that I don’t know how to let this emotional pain go!

Dear Lord, oh please see my secret fears! I’m afraid to let people near me. I’m afraid of being hurt again. I’m afraid of so many things. Please heal me of these fears. Help me to be mentally well!

I have coping mechanisms in place to help me deal with this pain. Some of these coping mechanisms are not healthy, but I am unable to deal with my days without them.

Please help me, O LORD!

Please remove my desire for these unhealthy coping mechanisms. Please help me to be free!

I’m not strong enough to resist temptation so I need You, O Jesus, to help me and heal me of this addiction!

Please guide me to the best treatment program and counselor to help me overcome my need for unhealthy coping mechanisms. For I need the support of others who understand what I am going through.

Please help me, heal me, and restore my mental health. Help me to be free from this emotional prison! Please remove my desire for these unhealthy coping mechanisms.

Replace the addiction with a desire to take better care of myself. Help me to not need unhealthy coping mechanisms!

Please remind me when I am stressed out, to call out to You for Your Divine Help! Please remind me to pray so that I can be at peace!

Please show me what to do instead of reaching for an unhealthy coping mechanism! I praise You, for Nothing Shall Be Impossible for You! (See Luke 1:37, Luke 18:27)

I need You, Jesus! I need You to be my STRENGH when I am weak! I need You to be my PROTECTOR when I am afraid.

Please be with me, Abba Father, and give me rest!

I thank You for answering my prayers for emotional freedom!

I love You, Lord, with all my heart!

In Jesus’ Precious Name I pray! Amen!

Dear Heavenly Father,

How Great and Faithful You Are, O LORD! I praise You this day!

Please forgive me and please help me, O LORD!

Oh how I struggle with letting go of these painful memories! They keep haunting me, Lord! Please replace these memories with beautiful thoughts. Thoughts of peace and love.

Everyday, I am reminded of the pain that I endured. Please take away the sting of these thoughts. Nothing is impossible for You, Lord! Please break the emotional stronghold of these thoughts!

Please help me to let go of these painful memories. I don’t want to carry them anymore! I desire to be free from the hurting.

Please help me to seek You always, to remember to pray when I am reminded of the painful past, to read Your Word when I feel lost and confused, to reach out to other Christians, when I am lonely.

Thank You for answering my prayers, O Lord!

Oh how I love You for Who You Are!

In Jesus’ Precious Name I pray! Amen!

The keys that have helped me time and again are:

  1. Daily studying God’s Word, the Bible...
  2. Spending time with other believers in a Bible study or support group...
  3. Taking care of myself by taking my medication, working with my doctor and other health care providers, eating healthy foods, exercising, and getting plenty of rest...
  4. Daily surrendering my life to Jesus with a willingness and sheer desire to be at peace and to be emotionally free...
  5. Trusting that God has good plans for me by practicing my FAITH. FAITH is a muscle that must be exercised! This means being obedient to God when He says to take action and to TRUST Him!
  6. And praying my prayers for emotional freedom until God answers!

Sometimes, when it seems that God is not answering my prayers, I find that it’s because I’ve been focusing on all the ways that my life is not as I want it to be, and I’m focused on all my problems.

I get anxious and upset, and allow the enemy to disrupt my walk with Jesus. This is a sure way to shipwreck anyone's faith!

To turn it back around, I must look to Jesus, stand firm on His Promises, get grounded in the Bible, and begin praying in earnest!

Know that if this happens to you, open your Bible to the Book of Psalms, and begin praying each Psalm that you read. Don’t stop until you feel at peace again.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I Worship You, O Abba Father! You Love me Unconditionally and for that I am FOREVER Grateful!

Please forgive me, Lord! I’ve been focusing on all the ways that my life is not as I would like it to be. Help me to see the blessings in my life. Help me to focus on what is good.

Please help me to be content with the life You have given me! I see others and feel envious of their lives! Please forgive me for this envy. I don't like this feeling, please replace my envy with contentment and peace!

Help me to see all the blessings in my life! Please remind me how You have blessed me and I will be grateful!

Please restore my peace and joy, for I allowed the enemy to snatch it from me!

Thank You that the devil cannot sever me from Your Love and Care! But I need Your Holy Spirit to empower me to Stand Victorious when the devil tries to knock me down! (See Psalm 118:13)

Please help me to focus on Your Promises and all the ways You have already helped me! I want to practice gratitude and learn to be content, even if You don’t change my circumstances!

The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon Him, to all that call upon Him in truth. (Psalm 145:18 KJV)

And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV)

Thank You for Your faithfulness and Your UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! I praise You for You are Good All The Time!

Please give me the desire to be at peace! Please help me to want to let go of the trauma that I endured. I don’t want to carry it anymore!

Please lighten my heart and give me joy, give me peace. I don’t want to be a prisoner any longer.

Please also help me to let go of my need for unhealthy coping mechanisms. Please help me to lean on You instead. Nothing is impossible for You, O Lord!

Give me the strength I need to get through this day, help me to say no to temptation and to say no to unhealthy coping mechanisms and instead lean on You for Your strength!

Help me to not need unhealthy coping mechanisms! Please remind me to pray when I’m tempted to reach for the unhealthy habit I’ve become accustomed to.

Please give me Your peace when I’m tempted to reach for anything that is not good for me.

I need You, God! I need Jesus! Please be with me throughout this day. Help me to say "No!" to unhealthy ways of dealing with my pain. Send me guardian angels to help me through every trial.

In Your Word, You say...

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, Who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. (1 Corinthians 10:13 KJV)

Please completely remove this desire for unhealthy coping mechanisms! And help me to want to take better care of myself! I need You, O LORD!

Send guardian angels my way who will help me say "No!" to my addictions!

Oh, how I long to be completely free, and completely at rest!

Oh how I love You, Jesus! Thank You for answering my prayers!

In Your Precious Name I pray. Amen!

Often, we forget God when we are in distress. We forget that we have the Creator of the Universe to help us through all of our trials.

As soon as you realize that you are in a precarious situation, stop what you are doing and lift up some prayers for emotional healing to our Almighty Father.

He longs for us to come to Him for comfort and protection!

Dear Heavenly Father,

Your Majesty and Honor are Infinite! Your Knowledge and Understanding are Unsearchable!

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out! (Romans 11:33 KJV)

Please forgive me for I often forget to pray. Please remind me when I am struggling to stop what I’m doing and pray heartfelt prayers to You!

14 And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He heareth us: 15 And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him. (1 John 5:14-15 KJV)

Thank You for being with me today in every moment. Thank You for the loving thoughts that You give me and the comfort of knowing that You are with me no matter what I’m going through.

Sometimes I get scared because I can’t sense Your presence, but You promise never to leave me or forsake me!

"...be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." (Hebrews 13:5 KJV)

And You remind me to have faith despite what my eyes see and what my feelings tell me!

For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? (Romans 8:24 KJV)

When I am scared and it is so difficult to trust You, Lord, remind me that You are working on my behalf and You will never leave me! (See Deuteronomy 31:6, 8)

5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV)

So I know that if my eyes see trouble and my heart is struggling with difficult emotions, I still have all the hope in the world! That hope is Jesus, my Lord and Savior!

Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; (Titus 2:13 KJV)

Thank You for answering my prayers! How I love You, Abba Father!

In Jesus’ Precious Name I pray. Amen!

Dear Heavenly Father,

Oh how Great You Are, LORD!

Please forgive me! Please help me!

Please remind me to always pray when I’m scared, for You hear me when I cry out to You and You protect me when I seek You!

Please remind me that when I’m terrified, You are still with me and are STRONGER than the enemy and STRONGER than all my enemies combined, and that no one can snatch me out of Your hand!

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world. (1 John 4:4 KJV)

28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand. 29 My Father, Which gave them Me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of My Father's hand. (John 10:28-29 KJV)

Thank You for prayer, and for reminding me to “Pray without ceasing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:17 KJV)

Help me to look to You when I struggle, for as long as my eyes focus on the problem, I will feel overwhelmed. Help me to just trust that You know what You are doing, and my job is to seek You!

Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: (Philippians 1:6 KJV)

Oh how I love You, Dear Lord! Thank You for answering my prayers!

In Jesus’ Precious Name I pray! Amen!

Dear Heavenly Father,

I praise You for guiding my prayers! Oh how thankful I am for prayer!

Please forgive me and please help me!

I need strength and courage, O LORD! Please remove my fear of man! I still struggle when confronted by someone who is upset with me.

I feel weak and afraid and don't want to cause anyone to be upset, for I remember all the times people were angry with me and I was afraid to disagree. Afraid that they would abandon me.

Please remove this fear, LORD! Please remove my fear of angering other people. Please put a guard on my tongue and give me the courage to quietly stand my ground.

Help me to not lash out in defense, but to stay calm and peaceful. Help me to be rational when others are angry. Help me to be a soothing presence when tempers flare.

I need Your strength and courage, O Jesus!

I don't want to be afraid of people. In Your Word You say...

The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe. (Proverbs 29:25 KJV)

Please remove my fear of man. Replace it with calmness and courage.

Help me to speak to all people in LOVE. Help me to share the LOVE of JESUS with all people!

Please be with us in this divided world that we live in! Please bring UNITY where there is division, PEACE where there is war, and LOVE where there is hate!

Please give everyone the courage to only speak words that build others up. Help us to LOVE one another and help us to be a HEALING PRESENCE in this struggling world.

Please remove our fear of being hurt by man! Replace it with the courage to LOVE ALL PEOPLE as Jesus LOVES!

We need YOU now more than ever, O LORD! Please answer our prayers for UNITY and PEACE!

Bring Heaven down to earth today, O LORD! Please answer all our prayers for deliverance from HATE and DIVISION!

Please plant compassion on all hearts! Compassion and concern for each precious soul that is living in our world today!

May we all embrace one another in LOVE and UNDERSTANDING!

Oh how we NEED YOU, ABBA FATHER!

Be with us and lift us up! Remove our fear of man!

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28 KJV)

We need YOUR STRENGTH and LOVE to conquer all hate in this world, Dear Father!

YOU LOVE us with an ILLOGICAL, UNDYING Love! Help us to forgive the WORST and believe in the BEST! Oh how the World needs YOU, JESUS!

Please capture each heart and instill YOUR Will to extend LOVE & PEACE to ALL PEOPLE!

Thank YOU for LOVING us when we least deserve it! Oh how AWESOME YOU ARE, O GOD!

Please answer our Prayers for Revival and for freedom from fear of man!

In Jesus' Precious Name I pray! Amen!

When we get relief from our mental distresses, we are empowered and commanded to pray for others who may be going through similar trials, or for those who are lost and, at present, without hope.

God places prayer on our hearts to lift up others who may be burdened as we have been burdened. He also commands that we pray for those in darkness because He loves ALL People and wants ALL People to come to Him for Salvation and Healing!

So when you experience God's loving hand healing you, pray some intercessory prayers for others who are suffering from insanity, mental illness, depression, suicidal, or even homicidal thoughts, and even pray for those who have committed any crimes against others. There are so many people who are unaware that God can save them, forgive all their sins, and give them TRUE Rest, Peace, Love, and Joy!

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You that You have given me relief from my mental distresses! You are so very GOOD to me and for that I am eternally Grateful!

Please heal those who are farthest from You! Draw those who need Salvation and Your Divine Healing Hand! Please convict them to repent of their sins, show them that they need Jesus, and forgive them and purify them from all unrighteousness!

Please cast out Satan and his demons and plant a hedge of protection around all the people who are suffering from insanity. (See Matthew 8:16)

Please restore their sanity and convict their hearts that they would know they need Jesus! Save them for all eternity!

Nothing is impossible for You, O LORD!

Please also convict the hearts of those who have been scarred by trauma! Help them to also process their mental strongholds!

Open their eyes and ears that they would accept Jesus as their LORD & SAVIOR!

Save them for all Eternity!

Give them true rest, O LORD! Help them to have sweet dreams and to get a good night's sleep! True rest is so important for mental wellness!

Please guide and protect each struggling person, lead them to Bible-based churches and to Christian support groups that they may get the help they need!

Make them aware of Your Supernatural Power that can lift them up and begin restoration in their lives in all ways.

We are not always aware of the work that You are doing in the background, Abba Father, but You are certainly working ALL The TIME!

Thank YOU, LORD, that You never "...slumber nor sleep"! (See Psalm 121:4)

Please help any believers of Jesus who are struggling with depression, mental illness, and suicidal thoughts. Remind them that this is not the end! Lift them up and break their emotional chains, Dear Abba Father!

Please also convict the hearts of those who are contemplating suicide, abortion, murder, rape, abuse, or harming anyone in any way, shape, or form. Stop them before they hurt themselves or someone else! Convict their hearts that they would repent and accept Jesus!

Send guardian angels to warn and guide these people to the help they need! Please, LORD, rescue them and save them for all eternity! (See Job 22:30)

"Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do."..(Luke 23:34 KJV)

May they know their need for JESUS!

Oh how AWESOME YOU Are, Dear LORD! Thank You for answering our prayers!

I ask all of this in Jesus' Precious Name!

AMEN!

Not only do we pray our prayers for emotional healing for ourselves and others, but we also pray prayers of gratitude even in the midst of our suffering.

This is to Honor and Praise our Heavenly Father for His Goodness and Faithfulness! It's a way to show Him how much we Love Him and Honor Him!

God wants our Praise and Worship no matter what is going on in our lives. When we offer our prayers of thanksgiving, we are saying that we believe that He will be with us and provide for us.

When you are feeling doubtful and afraid, remember to also pray with Thanksgiving and Belief!

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your Faithfulness! You are a Good, Good Father!

How I praise You for all the ways You help me and provide for me. Please help me to Honor You with my Worship and Gratitude.

5 But I have trusted in Thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in Thy salvation. 6 I will sing unto the LORD, because He hath dealt bountifully with me. (Psalm 13:5-6 KJV)

I pray that I constantly seek Your guidance and protection. Oh, how I know that there are enemies that want me to abandon You, but You want me to lean on and love You with my whole heart, mind, and soul!

30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. 31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. (Mark 12:30-31 KJV)

Please keep me close to You so that I am forever mindful of Your commands! Strengthen my faith and receive my gratitude. Help me to be content with the life You have given me.

But godliness with contentment is great gain. (1 Timothy 6:6 KJV)

Constantly remind me of all the times You have blessed me, that I may not forget how You rescued me from sin and death!

Thank You, LORD, for Your mercies that endure forever!

O give thanks unto the LORD; for He is good: for His mercy endureth for ever. (Psalm 136:1 KJV)

You are Sovereign and Mighty, and I am forever grateful to You! Oh how I love YOU, Dear Lord!

In Jesus' Precious Name I pray. Amen!

Dear Heavenly Father,

How Beautiful You are to me! I praise You for All of Your Wonderful Attributes!

I pray that everyone would come to You for forgiveness and healing! Please show the world a more excellent way, the path to Peace, Love, Joy, & Understanding!

Oh how very Thankful I am that I put my Trust in You, Jesus!

I pray that Heaven would come down to Earth today, that all may see the Glory of the LORD!

"...Thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven." (Matthew 6:10b KJV)

Do what only You can do, O LORD! Heal the sick, Comfort the mourning, Guide the lost, Prepare the Way for Your Glory and Majesty!

Oh, how the whole world needs You, Jesus! Everywhere we turn we see destruction, but LORD You know All and are In Complete Control! I pray that all who are hurting would seek Your Face and Pray!

Help us to all work together in Unity of Spirit! Help us to embrace one another in brotherly and sisterly LOVE! Help us to bear one another's burdens that we may partner with You to bring Heaven to earth this day!

Oh, that the whole world would be transformed this day!

Thank You for Your Supernatural Power and Majesty!

(See Matthew 6:9-13 for the Lord's Prayer)

Thank You for answering my prayers!

Oh how I love You, Dear Jesus!

In Your Precious Name I pray! Amen!
